Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the services, website, and platform operated by Perimeter ("Perimeter," "we," "us," or "our") at setaperimeter.com. By creating an account or using any Perimeter service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use our services.

Plain-language summary: We submit privacy requests on your behalf to third-party platforms. We cannot guarantee that every platform will comply, and we are not a law firm. These Terms protect both you and us by clearly defining what we do, what we don't do, and what happens if something goes wrong.

1. Service Description

Perimeter provides residential privacy services including, but not limited to: submitting blur and removal requests to mapping platforms, filing opt-out requests with data brokers, registering phone numbers on Do Not Call lists, submitting direct mail suppression requests, requesting removal of listing photos from real estate aggregators, and filing public record suppression requests where statutorily permitted.

Perimeter acts as your authorized representative for the limited purpose of submitting privacy-related requests. We are not a law firm, and nothing in these Terms or in our services constitutes legal advice. We do not guarantee the outcome of any request submitted on your behalf.

2. Authorization

By subscribing to Perimeter, you grant us a limited, revocable authorization to act on your behalf for the sole purpose of submitting privacy requests, opt-outs, takedowns, and suppression filings to third-party platforms, data brokers, government agencies, and records offices.

This authorization specifically permits Perimeter to:

  • Submit blur, removal, and suppression requests to mapping platforms and real estate sites
  • File opt-out requests with data brokers using your name and address
  • Register your phone number on federal and state Do Not Call lists
  • File complaints with the FTC, FCC, and state attorneys general on your behalf
  • Submit address suppression requests to county assessors and voter registrars
  • Communicate with third parties as your authorized representative for privacy requests

This authorization does not permit Perimeter to: enter into contracts on your behalf, initiate or settle legal claims, make financial transactions, modify property ownership records, access your financial accounts, or take any action not directly related to privacy requests as described above.

You may revoke this authorization at any time by canceling your subscription or emailing privacy@setaperimeter.com. Revocation is effective upon confirmation and does not undo previously completed requests.

3. Eligibility and Account

You must be at least 18 years old and a legal resident of the United States to use Perimeter. You must be the owner, authorized occupant, or authorized representative of the property for which you are requesting services.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update it as needed.

4. No Guaranteed Outcomes

This is important: We submit requests. We follow up. We refile when rejected. But we cannot force any third-party platform, data broker, government agency, or records office to comply. Compliance timelines and outcomes are determined entirely by those third parties.

Perimeter does not guarantee that any specific request will be approved, that any specific platform will comply, or that any specific timeline will be met. Mapping platforms may reject blur requests. Data brokers may re-acquire your information after removal. Government agencies may deny suppression requests based on eligibility criteria we do not control.

We will make commercially reasonable efforts to achieve the best possible outcome on every request, including resubmission after rejection and escalation where appropriate. Our service is an ongoing effort, not a guaranteed result.

5. Subscription and Billing

5.1 Subscription Plans

Perimeter offers subscription plans at the prices listed on our pricing page. Prices are subject to change with 30 days' notice to existing subscribers. Price changes do not apply retroactively to active billing periods.

5.2 Billing

Subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis depending on your selected plan. Your first charge occurs after your initial scan is complete and your authorization is confirmed. Payment is processed through Stripe. You authorize Perimeter to charge your payment method on file for recurring subscription fees.

5.3 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time from your dashboard or by emailing support@setaperimeter.com. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. No partial refunds are issued for unused time within a billing period.

5.4 Refund Policy

New subscribers may request a full refund within 30 days of their first payment if they are unsatisfied with the service for any reason. Refund requests after 30 days are handled on a case-by-case basis. Annual subscribers who cancel mid-term are not entitled to a pro-rata refund except within the 30-day window.

6. Your Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate property and personal information
  • Only request services for properties you own, occupy, or are authorized to manage
  • Not use Perimeter services for unlawful purposes, including concealing information relevant to ongoing legal proceedings, regulatory investigations, or law enforcement inquiries
  • Promptly notify us of any changes to your address, contact information, or property ownership
  • Not resell, sublicense, or redistribute Perimeter services

7. Intellectual Property

All content, design, code, trademarks, and proprietary methods used in the Perimeter website and platform are owned by Perimeter or its licensors. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any Perimeter content without written permission.

Your personal data remains yours. We claim no ownership of your name, address, or any personal information you provide.

8. Privacy

Your privacy is our business. Our collection, use, and protection of your personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

9. Limitation of Liability

Plain-language version: If something goes wrong, our financial liability to you is limited to what you've paid us. We are not responsible for the actions or inactions of third-party platforms, data brokers, or government agencies.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Perimeter's total liability to you for any claim arising from or related to these Terms or our services shall not exceed the total fees paid by you to Perimeter in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

In no event shall Perimeter be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to: loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, regardless of whether we were advised of the possibility of such damages.

Perimeter is not liable for:

  • The failure of any third-party platform, data broker, or government agency to comply with a request submitted on your behalf
  • The re-acquisition of your information by data brokers after removal
  • New imagery captured by mapping platforms after a prior blur was approved
  • Delays in processing by third parties beyond our control
  • Any action taken by a third party in response to or independent of our requests

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Perimeter, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from: (a) your breach of these Terms, (b) your misrepresentation of property ownership or authorization, (c) your use of the service for unlawful purposes, or (d) any third-party claims related to information you provided to us.

11. Dispute Resolution

11.1 Informal Resolution

Before initiating any formal dispute, you agree to contact us at legal@setaperimeter.com and allow 30 days for informal resolution.

11.2 Binding Arbitration

Any dispute not resolved informally shall be resolved by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association ("AAA") under its Consumer Arbitration Rules. Arbitration shall take place in Travis County, Texas, or remotely at your election. The arbitrator's decision is final and binding.

11.3 Class Action Waiver

You agree that any dispute resolution proceedings will be conducted on an individual basis only, and not in a class, consolidated, or representative action. If this class action waiver is found unenforceable, the entirety of this arbitration provision shall be void.

11.4 Small Claims Exception

Either party may bring qualifying claims in small claims court in Travis County, Texas, as an alternative to arbitration.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict of laws provisions.

13. Service Modifications

Perimeter reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the service at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or dashboard notification at least 30 days in advance. Continued use after notification constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.

14. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, provided fraudulent information, or are using the service for unlawful purposes. We will provide notice of termination and the reason, except where prohibited by law or where immediate termination is necessary to prevent harm.

Upon termination, your authorization is automatically revoked and we will cease all activity on your behalf. Previously submitted requests that are pending with third parties will continue to be processed by those third parties according to their own timelines.

15. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force and effect. The unenforceable provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable.

16. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any service-specific agreements presented during signup, constitute the entire agreement between you and Perimeter. No prior or contemporaneous oral or written communications shall modify these Terms unless executed in writing by both parties.
